Al-Qasim ibn Muhammad رضي الله عنه
The Firstborn
Muhammad ﷺ and Khadijah had six children together. The biographers name them as al-Qasim, Zaynab, Ruqayyah, Umm Kulthum, Fatimah and 'Abdullah, and they agree that al-Qasim was the eldest of the sons, and most of them that he was the first child born in that house.
He was born in Makkah, years before the first revelation came in the cave of Hira'. The house he was born into was a happy one: a husband and wife who trusted each other completely, with a growing family around them.
The Prophet ﷺ knew the ordinary joys of family life before he carried the message: a wife, a home and a firstborn son.
