Al-Qasim ibn Muhammad رضي الله عنه
A Short Life
Al-Qasim died in Makkah while still a small child. The reports differ on how long he lived: some say only a short time, others that he lived until he could walk or ride a mount. Most of the biographers say he died before the prophethood began.
He is remembered as the first of the Prophet's ﷺ children to die. Khadijah and her husband buried their eldest son, and later another son as well. The Prophet ﷺ would go on to bury every one of his children except Fatimah.
The best of creation ﷺ was not spared the loss of a child. Grief is not a sign that Allah has abandoned someone.
When you see someone grieving, how can you remind them that Allah has not left them?
