Zayd ibn Harithah رضي الله عنه
Taken from His Family
Zayd was born into the Arab tribe of Kalb and was still a boy when raiders seized him and carried him off to be sold. The classical accounts say he was bought in the market of 'Ukaz by Hakim ibn Hizam for his aunt Khadijah, and that she later gave him to her husband Muhammad ﷺ.
So a child who should have grown up among his own people grew up instead in a stranger's house. Yet in that house he found a master who treated him as family, and a wife of that master who loved him as her own.
Loss is not always the end of a story; Allah sometimes places a person exactly where he will be raised.
