The son of al-Zubayr and Asma' bint Abi Bakr, born after the Hijrah to great rejoicing. A devoted worshipper and a brave man, he refused to give allegiance to Yazid, sheltered in Makkah, ruled the Hijaz for years, and was killed in the siege of al-Hajjaj.
